If you are looking for a enjoyable afternoon with delightful lunch, delicious handmade chocolate and wonderful scenery then this outing is for you. Enjoy a mouthwatering filled pancake at Gideon’s Pancake House and do order a cup of coffee with a marshmallow treat. Then, just before the clock strikes 15:00, walk down to Huguenot Fine Chocolates and take ‘The Chocolate Experience’ (R35 p.p.) : a half hour programme outlining the story of chocolate, a chocolate tasting and a demonstration of how chocolates are made.
To round the day off, enjoy a glass of your favourite wine at the Franschhoek monument, with its renowned gardens and ponds, entry fee R15 p.p. (own wine brought with).
Length: 3-4 Hours

I enjoyed the bolognaise pancake at Gideon’s and it was both tasteful and filling, proudly South African. ‘The Chocolate Experience’ at Huguenot Fine Chocolates was equally interesting and sweet and I think the small gift you get at the end is quite a nice touch to the whole experience. It was the second time I had come to Franschhoek and I have to say the Franschhoek Monument Gardens is more beautiful every time I see it.
