My Experience:

I found that, should you be going from Stellenbosch, the ultimate approach is to go it on a Saturday and make a day outing to Cape Town. I love taking the train, and, upon arrival, visiting Greenmarket Square’s flea market. Afterwards I stroll down Long Street checking out the antique shops and maybe enjoy a drink or two. After a nice lunch at the Eastern Food Bazaar On Adderly Street, I like to spend the entire afternoon admiring the work in the Gallery. You can then end an enjoyable afternoon with a pleasant stroll back to the station, where there is cheap cigarettes and R3 coffee for sale… and get back on the train with your head filled with inspiration.

Tips:

  • Don’t take pictures of the Bergies outside of the Gallery – they get angry.
