The Brass Bell

(Contributed by )

Take a Road Trip to Kalk Bay to experience the freshest fish the sea can offer while watching the waves break right beside you.

The restaurant, situated on the edge of the coast, is only about an hour’s drive from Stellenbosch via a beautiful scenic route all along the coast. The Brass Bell is also famous for it’s Sundowners. It’s divided into 4 different areas: The Main Restaurant, The Cabin, Water’s Edge and Bikini Deck – each offering its own experience!

Price: R50 – R200
Length: 4 – 7 Hours
Distance: 50km

Availability: Every Day from 11am till late
Group size: 2-100
More information: Brass Bell Website

My Experience:

The food was absolutely some of the best seafood I ever had, and the view from Water’s Edge is a must-see!

  • Optional Upgrade: Transform this trip into a tour via Train instead of cars. You’ll need to take the train from Stellenbosch to Cape Town, then another one from Cape Town to Kalk Bay. Allow at least 2hours 30min to get from Stellenbosch to Kalk Bay using this method of transportation (same length to get back). You can get all 4 of the train tickets for about R31, and the Train stops directly next to the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay.

Wil net beklemtoon: Die kos is ongelooflik lekker! Ook van die lekkerste chocolate milkshakes wat ek al gedrink het.

Die uitsig is wonderlik, sal hierdie uitstappie baie sterk aanbeveel. Die uitsigte van die omgewing oppad soontoe is net so mooi!
